Lava Iris 504q goes online, available for Rs.13,499

Lava Iris 504QThe much expected Lava Iris 504q has been listed online now with a price tag of ₹13,499. E-commerce retail sites Infibeam and flipkart have started accepting pre-booking for the device. This latest smartphone from Lava is its first foray into the premium segment to compete against the likes of Samsung, Micromax and Karbonn.

The Iris 504q sports a 5-inch display with 1280×720 pixels resolution. It is very thin at just 8.4 mm in thickness, but still packs enough juice in it. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor and has 1 GB of RAM. The primary camera is 8 MP with LED flash and BSI sensor, while the secondary camera is a front-facing 2 MP shooter. It will be running on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean), though it is not known whether Lava has any skin customisations added on top of the stock OS.

The biggest surprise however is its Air-gesture support. You can interact with your screen without even touching it; just swipe your fingers above the screen. The internal memory is a paltry 4 GB, but it can be expanded up to 32 GB with a microSD card. The phone can have dual-SIMs and supports both 3G and 2G. The battery is rated at 2000 mAh capacity.

The Iris 504q is expected to release by the end of June, but you can pre-book it now itself to avoid any out-of-stock situations.
