The cute looking Nokia Asha 501 handset is finally set to make a debut in the Indian market. We already covered an article on it’s announcement previously. Just like the Lumias, it will come in many vibrant colours. The phone would probably be one of the smallest this year to arrive in India, apart from the Samsung Galaxy Star. It will sport a 3 inch QVGA (240 x 320 pixels) display, which would probably be enough for the small display. The handset is bolstered by a 1GHz processor of unknown make. The device also has a 3.15 MP rear camera which is capable of QVGA video recording at 15 fps. The device comes with an unacceptable 128 GB of internal storage and 64 MB of RAM. Nokia have to step it up a bit, as it’s competitor Samsung Galaxy Star has 512 MB RAM and 4 GB of internal storage and micro SD, expandable to 32 GB. It runs Nokia’s Asha Software Platform 1.0, which is a good looking Meego like swipe UI. This looks good, especially on a 3 inch screen. There is no mention of the GPU. Sadly, there will be no 3G. The handset is powered by a 1200 mAh battery.
